Steps in Building a Garden Pond at Home

As you can see in the video below, building a garden pond is actually easier than you think!

Step 1. Choose your location.

It’s important to only build a garden pond if you’re sure that you want one.

Also, you have to pick a spot that the pond will be in – and make sure that’s your best final choice. Because it will be difficult (and costly) to move the pond if you change your mind later.

Step 2. Plan your garden pond design and get the materials ready.

Step 3. Layout the pond and start digging for the rigid pond liner. Make sure that the pond liner is level; though an uneven liner can make it look more natural.

Step 4. If you’re adding a waterfall feature, you can create one using a flexible pond liner.

Step 5. Install the water filter and pump, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 6. If you’re using cement, you need to wait at least 2 days before filling the hole with water.

Step 7. While waiting for the cement to dry up, you can start landscaping around the pond.

Step 8. Once ready, you can fill your garden pond with water and add the plants.

Step 9. You can turn this project into a koi pond by adding some koi fish into your garden pond.

Final Words

A garden pond can be a beautiful feature for your home. You can also add some light features and place some garden chairs nearby to fully enjoy it even at night.
